Dr. Ajay Shankar Pandey Ji
Dr. Ajay Shankar Pandey Ji is a senior retired IAS officer from Uttar Pradesh, whose public and administrative career has been marked by excellence, education, and an unwavering commitment to public service. He is currently serving in the important role of National General Secretary of the World Brahmin Welfare Council.
Selected into the Uttar Pradesh Civil Services in 1986, Dr. Pandey has held several key administrative positions throughout his career. He is especially known for his efficient administrative leadership and people-centric governance as the District Magistrate (DM) of Ghaziabad. Prior to this, he served as the Commissioner of the Jhansi Division, where he created history by writing revenue court judgments in Sanskrit—reviving a 111-year-old tradition and significantly contributing to the promotion of the Sanskrit language. In addition to these roles, he has served as Joint Secretary in the Chief Minister’s Secretariat (UP), Municipal Commissioner of Ghaziabad, and Sub-Divisional Magistrate (SDM) in several districts including Chamoli, Mirzapur, Kanpur Dehat, Unnao, Agra, Firozabad, and Aligarh.
Academically, he holds a Ph.D. and is pursuing a D.Litt. degree. His administrative journey also reflects important political linkages—he served as the Officer on Special Duty (OSD) to Late Shri Kalyan Singh Ji, former Governor of Rajasthan, highlighting his deep experience in high-level administrative and political coordination.
As National General Secretary of the Council, his vast administrative knowledge, organizational skills, and public engagement experience—as a senior former IAS officer—will play a crucial role in effectively implementing the Council’s objectives and expanding its work at the national level.
